Step 1: The secret to easy wallpaper removal is to loosen the glue underneath. To help the wallpaper remover penetrate through the paper, score the surface with a PIRANHA Scoring Tool. The handy tool has stainless steel scoring teeth that will perforate the wallpaper but not damage the wall beneath. The more holes you make, the faster and easier the remover can penetrate the wallpaper and loosen the glue beneath. The scoring tool is particularly helpful if wallpaper is vinyl, vinyl coated or has been painted over. |

Step 2: Apply a wallpaper remover like PIRANHA Ready-To-Use LIQUID or GEL Wallpaper & Paste Remover or for large projects, try PIRANHA CONCENTRATE. The removers are specially formulated to penetrate and dissolve old wallpaper quickly. Removers can be applied with a roller, sponge or sprayed on.

For best results, make sure to keep the surface saturated with the remover. Re-apply as necessary. In about 15 or 20 minutes, the wallpaper will be ready to be removed.

Step 3: Remove the wallpaper with a tool like PIRANHA Wallpaper Scraper – a handy scraping tool with a blade specially designed to lift and separate the wallpaper from the wall without gouging or damaging the wall surface.

Once all the wallpaper is removed, reapply the remover to dissolve any remaining paste residue. The PIRANHA Removal Sponge is a handy tool for wallpaper removal. The yellow side is perfect for applying the removal solution. The blue “scrubber” side is designed to scrub off any residual paper or glue remaining after the paper has been stripped from the wall, leaving the surface clean and ready to redecorate. |
